Prof. Klaus Miller
Klaus Miller is Assistant Professor of Marketing at HEC Paris and Chairholder at the Hi! PARIS Center on Data Analytics and AI. He shows organizations and policymakers how digital platforms and privacy rules reshape consumer behavior and company strategy in today’s data economy.
His work bridges digital marketing, analytics, and privacy. He measures how targeting, personalization and tracking influence users and bottom-line results. His recent studies reveal the true cost of cookie-based tracking, the economic fallout of GDPR-style regulations and how fair, transparent subscription contracts boost trust and engagement.
Klaus partners with leading firms and regulators to test digital tools at scale. He applies rigorous empirical methods to massive datasets, delivering insights that matter for C-suite leaders, public agencies and data-driven teams.
He joined HEC Paris in 2021 from Goethe University Frankfurt after stints at Wharton and Stanford. His findings appear in the Journal of Marketing Research, the International Journal of Research in Marketing, and other top outlets. His research is also covered in various media outlets, including Forbes and The Conversation.
