S&O Lunch Seminar: The Power of Systems Thinking in Shaping a Sustainable Future
Participate
We are delighted to invite you to the S&O Institute’s upcoming lunch seminar on Thursday March 13, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. in Room T001 at the HEC Paris campus.

For this session, we have the privilege of hosting two distinguished speakers:
Tima Bansal
Professor and Canada Research Chair of Business Sustainability at the Ivey Business School, Western University
Tima will talk about Designing a Better Future for All: How Systems Thinking Can Contribute to More Resilient, Prosperous and Sustainable Organizations and Systems. Tima will argue that the analytical methods used by most scholars and managers to tackle business problems are increasingly less fit for purpose. She will propose systems thinking as a complementary approach to analytical thinking, depending on the type of problem being tackled. She will outline the fundamental assumptions that underlie systems thinking and outline their implications to both management research and practice.
Cristian Matti
Economic and Policy Analyst at the European Commission Joint Research Centre, Innovation Policy and Economic Impact Unit
A systems thinker, Cristian is dedicated to enabling institutional change through innovation and capacity-building processes across cultures and sectors. Through concrete examples of his work on foresight and sustainability transitions, Cristian will explore the role of systems thinking in the design and implementation of these projects.
Following the presentations, there will be an open discussion, providing an opportunity to dive deeper into the topics and their implications.
A lunch will be provided for all the participants. For organizational reasons, kindly confirm your attendance by March 7th by sending an email to sacchet@hec.fr.
We look forward to reconnecting with you all!
