The great reputation of HEC Paris in the field of finance as well as the opportunity to participate in a highly intense program held by an M&A-experienced and well known professor made me apply for the two-week Summer School Program. My expectations were not only fulfilled, but they were exceeded.

The program is based on real-life M&A case studies in which the professors played a significant role. This opens the possibility to introduce various specifics in the world of M&A that are not found in standard textbooks. In this way you are able to learn basic as well as advanced models and theories, and at the same time see how they were applied in large international deals. Guest speakers gave an additional insight into the various specific as well as emerging areas within M&A, such as the use of artificial Intelligence.

Although I had already gained some experience through several M&A internships, I was able to take away additional insights and knowledge in every single class. The most interesting part of the program was applying all the learned techniques in a case study about a recent acquisition that we had to prepare in an international team during the two-week period.
Being able to work with highly motivated and well educated people from all over the world made my time at HEC an amazing experience.

Even though the Summer School Program is highly intense and requires a lot of work, you will still have some time to participate in the wide range of offered extracurricular activities, as well as to enjoy the evenings with your fellow students. The program therefore gives you the possibility to extend your professional network, which can be very beneficial for your future career.
