Biography

Ludovic Stourm is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at HEC Paris where he teaches Marketing in the Grande Ecole program at the M1 level, with a focus on quantitative methods. He holds a Ph.D. degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, a Master’s degree in Statistics from Harvard University, and an Ingénieur degree in Computer Science from the Université de Technologie de Compiègne.

In his research, he uses models based on economic theory to empirically investigate aspects of consumer preferences and generate recommendations for companies regarding their marketing activities. His research is divided in two streams focused on different substantive domains: demand for consumer packaged goods, and sharing-economy platforms. He employs different methods, including Bayesian estimation, continuous-time event modeling, spatial modeling, and methods from Empirical Industrial Organization.

Prior to his academic career, he worked as a software engineer at Apple Inc. and as a consultant applying data-driven methods to solve marketing problems. Ludovic is a member of the American Marketing Association (AMA) and the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS).
