HEC Arabic Society gives students at HEC an opportunity to discover a different side to a rich and vibrant culture. The society organises various events, from conferences to Chicha and food tastings. Particularly proud of its diversity, HECMA wants to promote Arab culture throughout campus and invites everyone who wants to know more to join them.

The mission:

•    HEC Arabic society aims to promote Arab culture, by exploring its many dimensions. From culinary delights to its artistic richness, the association wants to explore values, arts and Arabic ‘savoir-vivre’.
Key events:
•    Themed conferences where big names from the Arab world are invited to speak; Prince Moulay Hicham of Morocco, Jack Lang, Inaam Kachachi- just to name a few.
•    HEC Arabic society organise a 9-day journey across Morocco with around 50 students every year. Previous trips have enjoyed the beauty of the southern Berber regions, Marrakesh and the Merzouga desert.
•    At the end of the year, HEC Arabic society partner up with HEC Israel to organise an oriental week. Students have the chance to enjoy two themed evenings and many tasty dishes to try.

Why join this society?

•    HEC Arabic society is an association distinguished by its family spirit and diversity, as well as the longing to discover more about this particular part of the world.
•    The society encourages students with little knowledge of the Arab world, and a willingness to open up to this culture to join them, and learn more about this brilliant part of the world.

Members and sponsors:

•    The current president of the society is Zakaria Chihab.
•    HEC Arabic society has in its ranks around 20 students every year.
•    The main sponsor of the society is Crédit Agricole du Maroc, who made the trip to morocco possible.

The society’s history:

HEC Arabic society is several years old- formally known as ‘Arabesque’, the society now carries the name HECMA, meaning ‘wisdom’ in Arabic. In 2011, when the renaming of the society was announced, Prince Moulay Hitcham of Morocco attended a conference to celebrate this event.
