Patrick Alix is involved in HEC Executive Education as the co-Director of the Specialized Executive Master « Gestion Financière ». He teaches in various programs for managers and executives, including HEC Executive MBA or customized programs for multinational companies.
His teaching areas are corporate finance, management control and strategy, especially the link between strategy and finance. On all those topics, Patrick Alix shares his experience and expertise built over his career in various senior management positions. Patrick Alix spent most of his career with Lafarge, the world leader in construction materials, which he joined in 1980 at the time of the merger with the Belgian group Coppee Industries. He was first Senior Vice President in charge of Strategic Planning and Human Resource of the Biochemical Division. Later, he was appointed Executive Vice President of the US biotech subsidiary of the group and in 1987 SVP Strategy and Development of the Biochemical Division.
He subsequently served as CFO of the Ready-Mix and Aggregates French Business Unit; Senior Vice President Finance and Legal Affairs of the Specialty Products Division of Lafarge; Group Finance Controller; Special Projects Director - Corporate finance and finally, Senior Vice President Strategy and Business Development of the Aggregates & Concrete Division (a € 6.5 billion turnover division in 2007 ; employing 23,000 people in 25 countries).
Prior to joining Lafarge, Patrick Alix held financial positions with Rhone Poulenc Pharmaceuticals and the Belgian group Coppee Industries.
Patrick Alix holds a Master's degree from ESSEC business school in Paris and an HEC Executive MBA degree.
