Poets and Quants reports a new study led by Brian Hill, professor at HEC Paris Business School, which suggests that students perform less during exams when assisted by artificial intelligence. According to professor Hill, these conclusions pledge for more AI usage in classrooms in order to train students to use these tools which they will need in their future professional life.
Could Paris replace London as Europe's finance hub? Interviewed by Handelsblatt, finance professor at HEC Paris Business Ferdinand Petra comments: "London remains the linguistic and cultural bridge between the US and Europe. It is hard to imagine that the big US banks will focus on Paris."
Poets & Quants reports the results of the latest HEC Paris-DowJones Venture Capital Performance Ranking, which is conceived by professor at HEC Paris Business School Oliver Gottschalg. According to him, the results "suggest that these new VC firms deliver the greatest returns, followed by a group of stellar incumbents who have grown in size over the years while still outperforming the average VC."
As a lot of issues surrounding the collection of data (GDPR infringements, discrimination induced by AI) have arisen, Dominique Rouziès and Michael Segalla, both professors at HEC Paris Business School, detail in an op-ed published in Harvard Business Review five critical issues managers need to focus on in order to make the use of data safer: the provenance of the data, the purpose for which it will be used, how it is to be protected, how the privacy of the data providers can be ensured, and how the data is prepared for use.
When asked by The Financial Times about female representation in the finance sector, finance professor at HEC Paris Jessica Jeffers comments: "There is of course a representation problem —not only in the students who take and have historically taken these classes, but also in the faculty who teach the classes. Lack of representation makes it hard to project ourselves in a field."

In The New York Times, law professor at HEC Paris Business School Alberto Alemanno comments: "It’s the Mitsotakis exception. Mr. Mitsotakis’ special treatment has derived from his political closeness to Ms. von der Leyen, Mr. Alemanno said, and his willingness to build — with funding from the bloc — a vast network of migrant centers that have proved politically popular in Greece."
